For this Mother’s Day, I present to you a greeting card I had made a while ago that is inspired by one of my all-time favourite songs. The song is : I Just Called by Stewie Wonder.
The entire card is a depiction of the song’s chorus: “I just called- To say – I LOVE YOU”.
It is cut to resemble a telephone, those old nostalgic telephones that Stewie Wonder used when his iconic song was written. The ones that had clear voice reception and no ergonomic issues that modern cellphones do.
The ones that seem to be found only in offices now!
It was probably this fact that prompted me to make the card grey ( I concede that it was a bad decision) After years of using a conference phone at work that is a very official looking shade of grey , grey became my first choice for the base colour of the card (I did add a splash of pink). Apparently, since the only telephone I’d seen in years was grey, I’d forgotten that they did come in other colours too.
It is a three layer card. The first thing you do to open it is to lift the receiver (just like you would if you were answering a phone 🙂 ). The next step is to open the card inwards- It opens from the wrong side.
Do tell me how you like it 🙂 and if it helped you get ideas for making a card of your own 🙂
